The Oklahoman's John Rohde caught up with Thunder star Kevin Durant before Sunday's Thunderstruck premiere.

Do you like acting?

"It was a little different. Once they called action, you tried to be locked in on your role. It was difficult at first, but just like anything when you first start you go through some bumps and bruises. After a while I kind of got adjusted."

Have you seen the finished product?

"Not yet. I'm looking forward to seeing it today. It should be cool."

Your mother, Wanda Pratt, makes an appearance in the movie. What was that like?

"It was cool. She made me more comfortable as time went on. She did a great job."

Did your mom catch the acting bug?

"I don't know. I haven't talked to her about it."

Did you catch the bug?

"I'm just trying to focus on basketball. We'll see how everything off the court goes, but right now I'm just going to enjoy this (premiere) right here and hopefully it turns out well."

They said they just wanted you to be you. Can it be difficult being you?

"That's what I was doing in the film was just being me, outside of missing all those shots. Other than that, I was having fun."

Heard you had some trouble deliberately missing shots.

"You guys know me, every time I get out on a court I try to get a little better. I was out there making a few shots, but once they yelled ‘action' I had to miss. It's difficult to try to miss shots after so many years of trying to make them, but I figured it out. It worked out well."
