When I pick up the morning newspaper, I read about new boat docks, new attractions on the Oklahoma River, great plans for parking in Bricktown, street cars and a rail system to Wichita, Kan. But when I look out my street I see trash that hasn't been picked up in weeks. When I drive I see potholes that have been poorly repaired and again need attention. The utility bills always seem to appear on time, along with threats to people who put their trash on the curb too early. The city of Oklahoma City should spend some of its precious time on the here-and-now problems. Taxpayers make all this possible. Quit patting yourselves on the back and pick up the trash!
