Oklahoma accidents claim four

ACCIDENTS CLAIM FOUR
Four Oklahomans have died in accidents since Friday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Henry Young, 59, Okmulgee
Young was driving about 5 p.m. Friday on State Highway 16 west of Beggs in
Okmulgee County when his car traveled left of center and struck a tractor-trailer rig driven by
William Merchant, 29, of
Preston, troopers said. Young died at the scene. Merchant was
treated at the scene, troopers said. Young and Merchant were wearing seat belts.
Jacob Allen, 14, McAlester
About 7:35 a.m. Saturday, Jacob Allen was a passenger in a pickup driven by
Charles Allen, 44, of Mc-Alester, driving north on Bache Road at U.S. 270 in Bache. The truck went through a stop sign and was struck by a westbound tractor-trailer driven by
Bradley Hutson, 22, of
Clayton, troopers said. Jacob Allen was ejected from the truck and died at the scene. Charles Allen and Hutson were treated at a local hospital and released. Jacob Allen was not wearing a seat belt, but
Charles Allen and Hutson were.
Kyle Herren,
22, Tulsa
Herren was driving a motorcycle about 12:15 p.m. Saturday west on Summerfield Road west of Jay when the motorcycle ran off the road and struck an embankment, troopers said. Herren died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.
Robert E. Ketcher, 48, Park Hill
Ketcher died in a collision about 1:40 p.m. near the
intersection of
U.S. 62 and county road 835 about four miles west of
Tahlequah. Troopers said a pickup in a private driveway failed to yield and struck Ketcher’s motor-cycle. He was thrown 147 feet. The patrol said he was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said he was not wearing a helmet.
