Oklahoma author LaNelma Johnson and her husband Dr. Ray Johnson will make presentations on her new book “Okie in a Saree” at several locations in the metro area.
The book is about the family's experiences during their 12-year stay in India while serving as chief administers for an international educational complex, which included primary, elementary, junior college and an institute for rural technology in Panchgani, India, as part of service to their Baha'i Faith.
The Johnsons will begin their tour on Sunday at the Edmond Baha'i Center followed by visits to several book clubs and library groups and the Full Circle Bookstore in Oklahoma City over the following two days.
The couple plans to make presentations and sign copies of the book at 11 a.m. and from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Edmond Baha'i Center, 321 E Campbell Street in Edmond. All the events at the Edmond Baha'i Center are free and open to the public.
The Johnsons will have a book reading and book signing at 6 p.m. Monday at Full Circle Bookstore located in 50 Penn Place, 1900 Northwest Expressway.
