TYRONE (AP) — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says police in Tyrone have asked the agency to help investigate the death of a businessman who was found inside his business.

The OSBI says 70-year-old James Vitkowski died Tuesday after being found June 30th inside Jim’s Auto & Salvage. The OSBI says Vitkowski appears to have died from blunt force trauma to the head and that his body is being sent to the state medical examiner’s office in Oklahoma City to determine the exact cause of death.

The OSBI says agents are trying to determine a motive for the assault.

Tyrone is a town of about 760 in Texas County — about 30 miles northeast of Guymon.
