Oklahoma authorities digging for infant's remains
An Adair County woman confessed she buried an infant in her yard in August, authorities say.
WEST SILOAM SPRINGS — An Adair County woman is being held in the Delaware County jail on a complaint of desecration of a human corpse Tuesday as investigators dig up her yard looking for the remains of an unborn child, an investigator said.
Stacy Leigh Belt, 32, confessed to burying an infant in August, said Mike Eason, an investigator with the Delaware and Ottawa counties Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.
“The infant is believed to be between 12 and 18 weeks,” Eason said.
Belt's address is listed as Watts, but authorities said she lives in West Siloam Springs. Watts is located five miles south of West Siloam Springs.
Belt's three other children were taken into protective custody, Eason said.
