MOORE — The Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma will hold its annual State Evangelism Conference on Monday and Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Moore, 301 NE 27.
Tim Gentry, the convention's evangelism director, said the free conference will include sermons, music and breakout sessions for people who want to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with their own community.
“We have a great challenge before us, to take the Gospel to the entire state, so that everyone has the opportunity to respond to Jesus,” Gentry said. “This event is for pastors and laypeople alike, those who love Jesus and believe that Oklahoma is their place to serve God.”
Speakers will include the following Oklahoma pastors: the Rev. Charlie Blount, First Baptist Church of El Reno; the Rev. Alton Fannin, First Baptist Church of Ardmore; the Rev. Nick Garland, First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow; the Rev. Blake Gideon, First Baptist Church of Edmond; the Rev. Alex Himaya, BattleCreek Church of Broken Arrow; and the Rev. KJ Jackson, New Beginnings Church in Tulsa.
Other Oklahoma pastors set to speak at the event are the Rev. Scott Reed, First Baptist Church of Cache; the Rev. Rick Sowell, Choctaw Road Baptist Church in Choctaw; and the Rev. Jack Vance, First Baptist Church of Dewar.
Breakout session topics include “How to jumpstart your church,” transforming your vacation Bible school into a community event and “Creating evangelism opportunities for students.”
The conference is presented by the convention through its Cooperative Program.
