Oklahoma baseball: Sooners fall at UT-Arlington

The Oklahoma baseball team managed just five hits in a 6-1 loss to Texas-Arlington on Tuesday night in Arlington, Texas.

OU starter Ethan Carnes (0-1) allowed four hits and two earned runs in two innings of work. OU reliever Jacob Evans had a strong stint on the mound, allowing three hits in 2 2/3 innings.

UT-Arlington's Chase Weaver pitched 5 1/3 innings in his first start of the season, giving up just one run with five strikeouts to pick up his first win of the season.

Matt Shortall had two hits and drove in two runs for the Mavericks.

OU (11-2) returns to action at USC at 8 p.m. Friday.
