Oklahoma's baseball schedule was released Wednesday, and the slate includes a home midweek game against TCU before Big 12 play begins and a trip to Florida in late February.
“I think our schedule is strengthened,” first-year Sooners coach Pete Hughes said. “I like our nonconference schedule, especially early on. I think the more difficult you schedule nonconference, specifically weekends early on, the better RPI you have, the better strength of schedule you have, but more importantly the better prepared your team is going into nonconference play.”
The season starts Feb. 14 with a three-game series at home against Seton Hall.
The Sooners will play The Citadel, Central Florida and Ohio State during a trip to Orlando from Feb. 21-23 then go to Surprise, Ariz., to play Manhattan, Santa Clara, Arizona State and Gonzaga from Feb. 27-March 2.
The Sooners will host TCU on March 18, a few days before kickoff off conference play March 21 at home against Kansas State. OU will also play Oklahoma State in a pair of nonconference games, one in Norman and one in Stillwater.
Hughes said Oklahoma will also play Texas-Arlington at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on March 11.
