Oklahoma basketball: Jordan Woodard sits late in Sooners' loss

by Ryan Aber Published: January 14, 2014

Late in the first half, Spangler's neck got scratched on a Kansas State foul, drawing blood.

“I was just battling,” he said. “I got a (finger)nail across the neck. It's good; it's part of basketball.”

The Sooners will travel to play No. 12 Baylor at 1 p.m. Saturday in Waco, Texas.

Oklahoma swept its two games against the Bears last season after being swept the season before.

The game will be televised by ESPN. Baylor plays at Texas Tech on Wednesday.

During the game, a fan was asked a trivia question with a chance of winning a prize for his section.

The question centered on Kruger, a former Wildcats player and coach, and Sooners assistant Steve Henson, who also played at Kansas State.

The fan was asked which all-time season statistical category the duo held five of the top 10 spots in Kansas State's record book.

Kruger and Henson, who was inducted into the Kansas State Hall of Fame in the offseason, still hold half of the top 10 spots in free-throw percentage for a season.

Guard Buddy Hield was wearing a boot on his right foot as he went to the bus after the game. Hield broke the foot last season and didn't play on the preseason trip to Belgium and France after aggravating the injury. … The Wildcats hit eight 3-pointers in the first half, including five in less than two minutes. … The Sooners outscored Kansas State 27-8 off of turnovers and 19-5 on second-chance points. … Spangler leads the Big 12 with seven double-doubles.
