When coach Bruce Weber first came to Kansas State from Illinois, all he heard about Oklahoma was that the Sooners beat the Wildcats twice last year.

“So they were able to get them back this year,” Weber said.

The Sooners dropped their second game of the season to the Wildcats on Saturday, 52-50. Kansas State won two weeks ago in Manhattan, Kan., 69-60.

“Grind it out. Find a way to win. That's all that matters,” Weber said about winning on the road. “It's a shame we let them come back and tie it up.”

WHERE'S PLEDGER?

Senior Steven Pledger had a rough night. The OU guard went 1-of-4 from the floor and 0-of-3 from beyond the arc. He played just eight minutes in the second half.

“Again, having trouble getting shots and getting separation from his man,” OU coach Lon Kruger said about his guard. “Then defensively had some trouble staying close to his men too.”

However, Kruger thought the Sooners were strong defensively overall. They out-rebounded Kansas State 38-34, including 28 defensive rebounds.
