Saturday isn’t Oklahoma’s final home game — that comes March 5 against West Virginia.

But with it being the final Saturday home game, the Sooners will hold Senior Day ceremonies before Saturday’s 3 p.m. game against Texas.

Forwards Cam Clark and Tyler Neal will be honored in an on-court ceremony before the game.

“It’s kind of hit me this week,” Neal said. “It’s a little weird not being the absolute last home game. My family comes to every game but I’m sure for Cam — I know his don’t come to every home game — to have his family out and extra people probably will be good to see one of the last couple home games.”

NEAL, BENNETT EARN ACADEMIC HONORS

Neal and junior D.J. Bennett were named to the Academic All-Big 12 team on Wednesday.

For Neal, a communications major, the honor is his third. He is one of three on the 16-member first team with a 4.0 grade-point average. Oklahoma State’s Christien Sager and Texas Tech’s Jaye Crockett were the others.

“I think a lot of that is Coach (Lon) Kruger putting the importance on it, especially with some of the young guys,” Neal said. “I think you’ll start to see more and more of that each year.”

Neal is averaging a career-high 6.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game off the bench.

Bennett is one of 13 on the second team, which includes players with GPAs from 3.0 to 3.19.

Bennett is averaging 2.8 points and 2.0 points.
