Northeast Academy guard LaNesia Williams verbally committed to play college basketball at Oklahoma, Vikings coach Londaryl Perry confirmed to The Oklahoman.

The news was first reported by OUInsider.com.

Williams is coming off a championship junior season; she scored 21 points in Northeast's 53-36 win over Alva in the Class 2A state championship game earlier this month. The Vikings finished the season a perfect 30-0.

As a sophomore, Williams was part of Northeast's Class 2A runner-up team.

The good news for Oklahoma comes as it prepares for Sunday's Sweet 16 matchup with Tennessee at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
