Oklahoma basketball: Sooners trying to snap two-game losing skid
A loss to Iowa State lingered, and resulted in another loss at Kansas. Now the OU women's basketball team hopes to get back on track at home against Kansas State

NORMAN — Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale and her players believe lingering disappointment contributed heavily to Sunday's loss at Kansas.

Three things to know
Oklahoma dropped from the AP top-25 rankings after last week, when the Sooners lost consecutive games for the first time this season.
Kansas State lost 80-45 at Oklahoma State in its last outing.
In the season's first meeting Feb. 6 in Manhattan, Kan., Oklahoma won 74-68. OU has won the series' last 11 games.
Three days earlier at home, the Sooners led Iowa State in almost every statistical category — but not the one that ultimately matters — and lost 72-68.
Then inside Allen Fieldhouse, the Sooners missed early shots, which snowballed into a rough first half, an 81-71 defeat and OU's first losing streak of the season.
“It's almost as if they were playing every possession to win the last game, that was already over and we couldn't do anything about,” Coale said.
Oklahoma can't allow those feelings to linger Wednesday, when the Sooners host Kansas State at 7 p.m. inside Lloyd Noble Center.
“We'll either come out and we'll punch them in the mouth ... or we might carry it on a little bit,” said senior forward Joanna McFarland.
“I'm hoping that it's gonna be the former, because we don't need another thing like that.”
In the first half at Kansas, the Sooners made only eight of their 29 field-goal attempts and trailed by 12 points at halftime.
