Oklahoma in spotlight
BOSTON — The OKBio presence at the BIO International convention extends beyond the 2,000-square-foot exhibition booth, “footsteps” on the exhibition floor lead directly to the Oklahoma space and the 80-plus people who are there to welcome visitors. OKBio has a full-page, color display ad on Page 2 of the BIO Show Daily publication each day of the show. The ads rotate each day, with Monday's ad featuring the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation and its collaboration with other research institutions that led to the discovery of a new type of lignin, which is a potential new source of carbon fiber for manufacturing.

Live and local at BIO
A news team from an ABC television station in Massachusetts showed up at the Oklahoma BIO exhibition booth Monday, shooting footage of the life-size cardboard Kevin Durant that guards the perimeter and interviewing Jennifer Seaton with the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber. What did they ask her? Well, for one they wanted to know if Oklahoma wanted to lure away any Massachusetts-based companies. Her response: “Only if it's the right fit for them.” The TV news crew also wanted to know about the reaction of Oklahoma to the Thunder making the NBA Finals. The answer, of course, was the presence in the booth of the images of Kevin Durant, Rumble, James Hardin and Russell Westbrook.
A fond farewell
Members of the Oklahoma delegation toasted Robin Roberts Krieger with the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber at a special Oklahoma networking reception on Sunday night. Krieger is leaving her post as executive vice president with the chamber at the end of the month. The 2012 BIO show is Krieger's seventh with the OKBio group, said Josh O'Brien, who is also with the chamber and i2E Inc. “She really helped bring us to where we are now,” O'Brien said.
