VANOSS — A Vanoss family says a 5-year-old boy wasn't seriously injured when he fell out of a moving school bus.
But the parents of Trenton Barger are questioning why their son was sitting on the front steps of the bus as the vehicle traveled down a paved county road last week.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Trenton somehow fell through the front doors of the bus as it rounded a curve.
Superintendent Janet Blocker says the incident is under investigation and that the driver involved is a certified employee who's had no prior incidents.
Trenton's mother, Teri Powers, tells a local newspaper that the school should have called 911 after the incident. She says she took her son to the hospital, where he received a CAT scan and was treated for cuts and abrasions.
