to close stores

Blockbuster plans to close four of its video rental stores in Oklahoma City. The stores at 13410 N Pennslyvania Ave., 4502 S Pennsylvania Ave., 6401 Northwest Expressway and 3604 N May Ave. are expected to close Jan. 10. That will leave 17 stores in the metro area. Customers affected will be offered $1.99 rentals at an alternate location for four weeks and a free trial to Blockbuster’s online rental program.

Panhandle Oil reports uptick
Panhandle Oil and Gas Inc. on Monday reported a 10 percent increase in proved reserves for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30. The company’s estimated proved reserves on that date were 59.6 billion cubic feet of natural gas equivalent, based on SEC pricing. Reserves were 54.1 billion cubic feet the year before. The increase follows a Panhandle trend.
