Alternative degrees set for workers
Free pizza will be served at an information session at Oklahoma City University aimed at adults who would like to finish their bachelor's degrees.

CPAs to hear leader, retired colonel
The incoming chairman of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a retired colonel who served as the Central Command special operations officer during Operation Enduring Freedom will speak at this week's annual meeting for Oklahoma CPAs.
Ernest A. Almonte, CPA, will be the luncheon speaker at Wednesday's meeting for the Oklahoma Society of CPAs at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
Almonte, who is also a certified fraud examiner, a certified government financial manager and a certified information technology professional, has been Rhode Island's state auditor general since 1994. Accounting Today named him one of 2005's most influential people in the accounting profession.
Frank Ryan, a retired colonel with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, will present "Leadership in Challenging Times.” Ryan is a CPA who serves as president of his own company specializing in the turnaround and workout management for companies in financial trouble.

3-wheel vehicle insurance offered
Progressive Insurance plans to roll out motorcycle coverage for Oklahomans who drive three-wheel vehicles that are gaining popularity for their fuel-efficiency, the company said.
Approved for on-road use, these three-wheel compact vehicles range from high-performance machines such as the sports car/motorcycle T-Rex to energy-efficient, electric transporters such as the ZAP Xebra. Recognized as motorcycles in most states, Progressive will insure them with its motorcycle products.
Progressive's alternative vehicle insurance is available in Illinois and Mississippi. Pending regulatory approval, it will roll out later this year in Oklahoma and 17 other states.
Goody's Muskogee store to close
Goody's Family Clothing Inc. announced Monday the closing of 69 stores nationwide, including the Goody's in Muskogee.
In addition, stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia will be closed so the company may reorganize under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
The company plans to close 103 stores in 2008.
