LSB earnings show decline
Special items, including an unplanned chemical plant shut-down, reduced third-quarter earnings for LSB Industries Inc., the Oklahoma City company reported Thursday. Profits fell to $4.2 million in the three-month period ending Sept. 30, compared with $18.3 million in the same period last year. Excluding the one-time items and the items that boosted earnings in the period a year-ago, LSB’s operating income grew to $18.7 million from $14.3 million.

Vaughan Foods reports loss
MOORE — Rising food and energy costs swung Vaughan Foods Inc. third-quarter earnings to a net loss, the Moore food preparation company reported Thursday. Vaughan recorded a net loss of $1.2 million, of 25 cents per share, compared with profits of $96,000 or 2 cents per share in the third quarter last year.Insurers await damage calls
