Devon speeds some drilling

Devon Energy Corp. will accelerate drilling in the southern part of its Haynesville Shale holdings because of success in the area. A San Augustine County well has achieved an average continuous 24-hour flow rate of about 30.7 million cubic feet of natural gas equivalent per day, the company said. Devon operates the well with Crimson Exploration Inc. Officials said the well is believed to be the most successful well ever drilled in the Haynesville Shale.
