Two win auto skills finals

Two students from Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center in Choctaw won the state finals of the Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills contest. William Eubanks and Andrew Chapman, led by instructor Jim Lafevers, will represent Oklahoma in the National Finals in June in Dearborn, Mich., in a contest of winning teams from all 50 states. Students will complete a written exam testing their automotive knowledge before a hands-on competition on the front lawn of Ford World Headquarters. Eubanks and Chapman won the state competition this week at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee where students from technology centers across the state raced to correctly diagnosis and repair intentionally installed “bugs” on identical Ford vehicles. Each pair was judged on speed, accuracy and workmanship. Teams from Red River Technology Center in Duncan finished second and third.

NGL boosts distribution

NGL Energy Partners LP on Friday increased its quarterly cash distribution to 55.125 cents per outstanding limited partner unit. The 2-cent increase marks the 10th consecutive quarter NGL Energy has increased its cash distribution since its initial public offering in May 2011. The distribution will be paid May 15.
