Google funds computer labs
Google this week awarded three grants to fund computer labs in Mayes County. Google said it will give $62,500 to Pryor Public Schools for three elementary school laptop labs and a robotics program at the secondary level. The Internet company also awarded $50,000 to the Thunderbird Youth Academy for computers, software and equipment to expand access to the Internet and other technology for the academy's GED and credit recovery program. Google also awarded $10,000 for a computer lab at Safenet Services, a certified domestic violence and sexual assault agency in Rogers and Mayes Counties.
MESA acquires Premier Cathodic
TULSA — Corrosion control services provider MESA has acquired Washington-based Premier Cathodic Protection Inc., the company announced Tuesday. The deal will create one of North America's largest providers of cathodic protection and pipeline integrity solutions. “With our strength in the Mid-Continent, and Premier's reputation and experience in the northwest, MESA is well-positioned to serve customers coast to coast,” CEO Terry May said. Premier, which will become part of MESA's specialty operations division, has expertise in providing cathodic protection for storage tanks, marine facilities and directional drilling installations.
