Variety Care breaks ground for center
Variety Care has broken ground on a 8,000-square-foot Dental Center of Excellence that will add 15 new dental chairs to its Straka Family Health Center in south Oklahoma City. The $4.3 million project will bring the total number of dental operatories at the Straka site to 21, making it one of the largest dental clinics in the state. “Oklahoma struggles with many health outcomes, but one of the most challenging is oral health,” CEO Lou Carmichael said. “The most non-urgent diagnosis in hospital emergency rooms is tooth pain. Dental care is central to primary care and keeping families healthy, but it is also tough for people to afford. Our dental expansion at the Straka location will help keep people's mouths healthy.”
QuikTrip buys naming rights at park
TULSA — QuikTrip has committed $12.5 million for A Gathering Place for Tulsa to sponsor the 3.7-acre area of the park that stretches from the Great Lawn to the Lakeview Lawn, the George Kaiser Family Foundation announced Monday. The sponsorship includes naming rights to the Great Lawn, Lakeview Lawn and the Lakeview Passageway over the north land bridge. “QuikTrip believes The Gathering Place for Tulsa is going to be a special place for our community, and we are honored to be a part of this visionary project,” CEO Chet Cadieux said. “QuikTrip has been very fortunate in our 55-year history, and we owe our success to our customers in the Tulsa Metro area. We hope this gift is another way of saying thank you from the families of QuikTrip.” A Gathering Place for Tulsa is a planned 66.5-acre park along the Arkansas River that will connect three previously independently owned sites with the existing River Parks.
