WPX Energy cuts position

WPX Energy is eliminating the position of senior vice president of business development and land, the company disclosed Wednesday in a regulatory filing. Neal A. Buck, who currently occupies that position, will remain with the company until May 2. Buck will be eligible for a severance payment of up to $250,000 and vesting of all performance-related restricted stock, according to the filing. Buck also will be barred from competing with WPX until Oct. 31.

Potts Family names directors

Potts Family Foundation has named Dr. Robert Block and former Oklahoma Education Secretary Phyllis Hudecki to its board of directors. Block is immediate past president of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He also is professor of pediatrics and immediate past chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine in Tulsa. Hudecki has more than 30 years of experience in education. She currently directs the work of the Oklahoma Business and Education Coalition, a business-led coalition established in 2000. Potts Family Foundation works with community leaders and others to strengthen nonprofits and establish the link between early childhood development and economic growth.
