Ag department offers grants

The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry is accepting applications for grants to help existing farmers markets. The grants, between $1,500 and $2,000, are for registered farmers markets in the Oklahoma Grown program. Grant funds can be used for signage, marketing, advertising and other promotional activities. For 2013, a total of $55,000 is available under the Oklahoma Grown Farmers Market Specialty Crop Grant program. For additional grant information and application forms, contact Oklahoma Grown Program Coordinator Nathan Kirby at 522-6194. Applications should be postmarked by Feb. 28.
