Business mentors sought
Oklahoma business leaders are asked to mentor high schoolers with disabilities as part of the National Groundhog Job Shadow Day on Feb. 1. The new program by the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services pairs a high school student with a business leader for the day. “Everybody benefits,” said Kim Osmani, coordinator of the department's Transition School-to-Work program. “Students apply skills that they learned in the classroom to the real world. Employers introduce students to potential careers and share their perspective on employment success.” Contact Osmani at 635-2768 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline to register is Friday.
