Approval sought for N.Y. project
TULSA — Williams Partners LP is seeking regulatory approval to provide additional natural gas to New York City from its Transco pipeline. Williams Partners intends to provide almost 650,000 dekatherms a day of gas delivery capacity. The partnership plans to spend $182 million to build a 3.2-mile lateral. “This project is critical to provide the additional natural gas supplies New York City needs, particularly as it strives to meet federal environmental standards and its own ambitious clean energy goals identified in its PlaNYC 2030,” said Frank Ferazzi, general manager of Williams Partners' Transco pipeline. The project must be approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
