Oklahoma business briefs for Nov. 14

Chaparral Energy Inc. reported a net loss of $4.9 million for the just-completed quarter, the Oklahoma City company said Tuesday in a regulatory filing. Chaparral earned $64.6 million in the same quarter of last year, although the company has boosted its capital budget this year to acquire additional leasehold and drill more wells. Chaparral reported its oil and natural gas production rose more than 8 percent in the quarter to 2.4 million barrels of oil equivalent, buoyed by a 20 percent increase in the Mid-Continent region.
