TULSA — Houston-based Midstates Petroleum Co. has closed on its $650 million move to buy all of Tulsa-based Eagle Energy LLC's oil and gas properties. The deal, announced in August, includes Eagle's developed and undeveloped acreage primarily in the now popular and liquids-rich Mississippian Lime trend of northern Oklahoma and southern Kansas. The overall properties, in the Mississippian and Hunton plays, contain 114 gross producing wells spread out over 103,000 net acres. Eagle's team will operate those assets over a one-year transition period. Eagle CEO Steve Antry said he expects Midstates to hire much of the Eagle staff over that time.

Magnir expands into OKC

TULSA — Magnir, a Tulsa-based provider of information management services, has opened an Oklahoma City office to meet the needs of energy firms and other companies in the area. “We continue to see growth in Oklahoma City, and we decided we could best serve our clients and potential customers by making this expansion,” Managing Director Fred Menge said in a statement. The new office is at 4618 N Classen Blvd. Magnir provides information management services in the areas of litigation readiness, mergers and acquisitions, information systems audits and assessment. Magnir specializes in energy and utilities, manufacturing, aerospace and government.

Princeton salutes OSU programs

STILLWATER — For the second consecutive year, Oklahoma State University's four-year-old School of Entrepreneurship is among a handful of schools nationwide recognized by Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine for both its top-notch undergraduate and graduate programs. Of more than 2,000 programs reviewed, OSU's graduate entrepreneurship program ranked No. 14, while its undergraduate program ranked No. 22, Dean Larry Crosby said. Last year, the programs ranked No. 23 and No. 24, respectively. Evaluation criteria included the schools' percentage of faculty, students, and alumni actively and successfully involved in entrepreneurial endeavors and the number and reach of their mentorship programs, grants and scholarships funding, and support for school-sponsored business plan competitions.
