TFCU car show wins award

Tinker Federal Credit Union has received Children's Miracle Network's Fundraising Event of the Year award for the 11th Annual TFCU Miracle Car Show. The event raised $23,595.14, which included a $10,000 Miracle Match from CO-OP Financial Services, for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Funds were raised through car registration fees, raffles, concessions, and sponsorships. Free for spectators and open to the public, the event featured 147 vehicles in 18 categories. It has been held at Tinker Federal Credit Union's corporate offices since 2001. At the awards luncheon, Oklahoma's Credit Unions for Kids was recognized as the Children's Miracle Network's Sponsor of the Year with the Jean Gumerson Founder's award. Tinker Federal Credit Union collaborates with credit unions from across the state each year to support Children's Miracle Network. Since 1997, Credit Unions for Kids has raised $1.9 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in Oklahoma. Children's Miracle Network funds children's medical research and works to enhance children's lives in Oklahoma. All of the money raised stays in Oklahoma and benefits Children's Hospital Foundation.

Venture Foods wins honor

Ventura Foods, provider of oils, soup bases and dressings, recently was named supplier of the year by Ben E. Keith Foods, the nation's eighth largest broadline food service distributor. Category winners are Combs Produce, produce; McCain's USA and Rich Products, frozen foods; Tyson Foods and Wayne's Farms, Center of the Plate; Ventura Foods LLC and McCormick & Co. Inc., grocery; Georgia Pacific, nonfoods; and The Vollrath Company, equipment and supply.
