AT&T to upgrade cellular service

AT&T announced Thursday that it will bring 4G LTE services to the Tulsa area by the end of the year. In a news release, AT&T Inc. noted that the “Long Term Evolution” service should be 10 times faster than regular 3G. The faster cellular transmission will result in quicker data downloads, smoother streaming music and video, lag-free online gaming, more efficient Internet services for computers connected to cellular hot spots and more, Dallas-based AT&T said. Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular already offer 4G LTE services. T-Mobile USA offers 4G through HSPA+ technology. Sprint does not offer 4G services in Tulsa.
