Suppliers plan awards dinner

Four minority suppliers will be recognized by the Oklahoma Minority Supplier Development Council at its 22nd annual awards dinner Oct. 4. The event will be at the Sheraton Oklahoma City Hotel, 1 N Broadway. Awards will be given for outstanding minority suppliers of the year as well as corporation of the year. The keynote speaker is Craig Clayton Sr., founder and chief executive officer of the Houston-based global consulting firm Spartacus Group. Networking begins at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. To reserve a seat, call the Oklahoma Minority Supplier Development Council at 767-9900.

Indoor water park to open

The Water-Zoo Indoor Water Park opens at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Attractions include water slides, a 600-gallon tipping bucket, wave pool, activity pool, lazy river and bowl slide. The Water-Zoo is the state's only indoor water park and features glass walls and a retractable roof. The park is adjacent to Clinton's Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites. Admission prices start at $21.99 and packages are available. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Chesapeake to pay dividend

Chesapeake Energy Corp. will pay quarterly dividends on its common and preferred stock, the company announced Monday. Chesapeake will pay a dividend of 8.75 cents a share on its common stock on Oct. 31. Dividends for four series of preferred stock will range from $1.125 to $14.375 a share. Also on Monday, Chesapeake announced that its directors last week received between 3,206 and 4,189 shares of Chesapeake common stock. At Monday's closing price of $19.38, the directors received between $62,000 and $81,000.
