Funds given for asbestos cleanup
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded Oklahoma nearly $250,000 to help reduce exposure to asbestos in schools and state buildings. The Oklahoma Department of Labor will use the $242,322 award to complete audit inspections in state schools and ensure asbestos abatement workers are properly trained. Inspections are designed to protect communities from asbestos exposure.
Company's chicken fixins honored
Convenience Store News has awarded AdvancePierre Foods with one of the best new products of 2012. In the competition, a panel of consumers selected the Fast Fixin' Sandwich Bar Breaded Chicken as the best new lunch/dinner food at convenience stores. Products are judged on taste, value, convenience, healthfulness, quality of ingredients, preparation, appearance and packaging. AdvancePierre Foods, based in Cincinnati, operates a processing facility and bakery in Oklahoma.
