Nine to make pitch at SXSW
Nine Oklahoma-based finalists for the Buffalo Lounge Elevator Pitch Competition in Austin, Texas, were selected last week from among videotaped submissions by a panel of investment professionals at i2E Inc., a co-sponsor of the event along the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber as part of the Office of Entrepreneurial Development. Oklahoma entrepreneurs and companies that will make 90-second pitches about their innovative concepts will be: Josh Wright, Buzzam Radio; James Simpson, Goldfire Studios; Jay Wright, SpokesMe, all of Oklahoma City; Jeff Moore, Littlefish/Fountain Ventures, of Norman; and Chris Zenthoefer, Docvia; Dustin Curzon, Narrable; Autumn Worten, RenKid; Jacob Johnson, ReTenant LLC; and Ross Faith, SpectrumFX, all of Tulsa. In addition to the $5,000 first prize, two $2,500 prizes will be awarded at the Buffalo Lounge event. The Buffalo Lounge is a collaborative effort to spotlight Oklahoma companies and innovators at the South By Southwest Conference, which last year attracted more than 50,000 visitors.
City National Bank to add branch
LAWTON — City National Bank & Trust plans to open a new branch in the westside Lawton Marketplace development, the company said. The stand-alone branch, expected to open in July, will be full-service with a lending officer and drive-thru lanes. City National Bank has plans of opening another stand-alone branch in Oklahoma City in the near future.
Sprouts sets job fair
NORMAN — A job fair is being held this week to fill positions at the new Sprouts Farmers Market grocery store, which opens next month at 555 W Main. The store will employ about 80 people. The company offers benefits including medical and retirement plans, paid time off and scholarships. Those interested can attend the job fair at the Hilton Garden Inn, 700 Copperfield Dr., between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday.
