PSO honored for development
Public Service Co. of Oklahoma's parent company has been selected as one of Site Selection magazine's Top Utilities in Economic Development. Ohio-based American Electric Power was one of 10 companies to earn that designation based on a mix of objective and subjective criteria. “Utilities play a key role as participants in the economic development efforts of cities, regions and all areas working to improve their local business climate,” Editor Mark Arend said. “This year's Top Utilities were particularly successful in this endeavor in 2012.”
Great Plains Bank wins praise
ELK CITY — Great Plains National Bank has been tabbed as one of the country's top community banks in the American Banking Association Journal. The Elk City-based bank was recognized for its service in traditional banking services. “We are extremely proud and honored that the ABA Banking Journal has recognized our bank as one of the Top Performing Community Banks under $1 Billion in Assets, for the second consecutive year,” CEO Mark Russell said. The bank has 10 locations in southwest Oklahoma, two new locations in central Oklahoma and a mortgage division based in Oklahoma City.
