Sweet Law Firm attorney Katie Templeton has been appointed to the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners. Templeton received her Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. She has worked exclusively in medical malpractice defense, including the defense of hospitals, physicians, dentists, long term care facilities, nursing homes and assisted living centers.
Citizens Bank of Edmond has promoted veteran banker Bill Nelson to executive vice president and chief credit officer. Nelson joined Citizens Bank of Edmond in 2010 as chief commercial lending officer and brings to his new position 35 years of banking experience working for both large and small institutions to help guide their efforts toward community banking. Prior to working at Citizens Bank of Edmond, Nelson served as community bank president with Intrust Bank, N.A. His previous experience includes serving as senior vice president of the business banking group for Bank of Oklahoma. Nelson has a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics and marketing and business from Oklahoma State University.
Lindsey Bradley has joined Edmond-based Arledge & Associates as an audit specialist. Bradley is a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University and Stilwell High School. She has been on the Dean’s List, the President’s List and named Who’s Who in the School of Business. Bradley is also a member of the Delta Mu Delta Business Honor Society.
Board certified general surgeon Joshua Carey, M.D., has joined Integris Medical Group. Carey received his medical degree from the University of Kansas and completed a residency in general surgery from Wright State University, School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. He served as chief of surgery at Tinker Air Force Base from 2006 to 2008 and was named the 2006 Air Force Material Command Surgeon of the Year.
Heart failure specialist and transplant cardiologist Darshak Karia, M.D., has joined Integris Advanced Cardiac Care. Following medical school at Baroda Medical College, Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad University in Baroda, India, Karia completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, Conn. He then completed a fellowship in congestive heart failure and cardiac transplant training at the University of Minnesota.
TAP Architecture has named Anna McBroom as a new associate of the firm. McBroom has been with TAP for three and a half years and is a member of IIDA and is a registered NCIDQ Interior Designer. She is a 2007 graduate of Oklahoma Christian University with a bachelor of science in interior design. She also received the Alumni Achievement Award from the school’s department of art and design.
Richard Lueb, a Principal at TAP Architecture, has been appointed to the CSI FY 2015 Government Credential Education Task Team. Lueb also has been selected by the Oklahoma Uniform Building Code Commission to serve on the Fuel Gas, Mechanical, and Plumbing Commercial Technical Committee. Lueb has been with TAP since its inception more than 25 years ago.
Michelle Merrell, a family medicine nurse practitioner, has joined Mercy Clinic Edmond Memorial. Merrell previously had a career as a television reporter and news anchor, most recently in College Station, Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2012 from the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing, and her master’s degree in nursing from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., this spring. Merrell works in partnership with Dr. Melinda Cail at Mercy Clinic Edmond Memorial.
Oklahoma City attorney Douglas J. Shelton has been named a Fellow of the American Bar Association Foundation. The Fellows is an honorary organization of attorneys, judges, law faculty and legal scholars who have been elected by their peers. Members must have demonstrated outstanding achievement and dedication to the welfare of their communities and adhere to the highest principles of the legal profession. Shelton is owner and managing partner of Shelton, Maxted, and Walkley, Attorneys at Law in Oklahoma City.
boldBob Carroll, an independent agent of Jewelers Mutual Insurance Co., this month received the company’s Legacy Award and has been inducted into the Jewelers Mutual Agent Hall of Fame. Carroll also was recognized as a Centerstone Agent for his efforts to serve Jewelers Mutual policyholders in 2013. Carroll lives in Edmond with his wife Jean and is active in his local community, serving on the board of YMCA Camp Classen, playing as principal cellist in the Oklahoma Community Orchestra, and volunteering for his church and other charities.
