Devon Energy named to award

Devon Energy Corp. has been named one of the “10 Best Corporate Citizens” in the energy sector by Corporate Responsibility magazine, the company announced Thursday. The magazine and its financial analysis firm scrutinized 324 data elements ranging from governance to philanthropy. “It is an honor to be recognized as one of our industry's best corporate citizens,” CEO John Richels said. “We believe it reflects the work of our 5,500 employees across North America who, day in and day out, live our corporate values by respecting the environment, being a good neighbor and always doing the right thing.”

Two tribes to test water quality

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded more than $230,000 to two tribes in Oklahoma to support their water pollution control programs. The Ottawa Tribe of Oklahoma received $120,000, while the Peoria Tribe of Oklahoma got $112,099. The funds will be used to take water samples on tribal land and compile data to determine whether water quality standards are being met.

Cryogenic plant begins operation

Philadelphia-based Atlas Pipeline Partners LP began operating a new cryogenic processing plant this week on its WestOK gathering and processing system in northwest Oklahoma and southern Kansas. The plant, know as the Waynoka II, will be able to process up to 200 million cubic feet of natural gas a day. It currently is processing about 130 million cubic feet a day. The WestOK system gathers more than 400 million cubic feet of gas a day from producer customers in the Mississippi Lime formation.
