OKC mall to host ‘Mom's Nite Out'
Penn Square Mall will host its Mom's Nite Out event from 6 to 8 p.m. May 9, treating moms to a free evening of relaxation, fun and shopping discounts. The Oklahoma City mall is one of 129 malls nationwide owned by Simon Property Group that are participating in the national event. A trip will be given away to Chicago to see Bon Jovi's “Because We Can” tour on July 12, and an educational campaign about varicose veins will be part of the event. City company recalls cookies
An Oklahoma City-based company is recalling hundreds of packages of its oatmeal raisin cookies after an inspection by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration revealed some undeclared ingredients. The 7th Heaven Bakeries in Oklahoma City announced the recall late Tuesday. The company's oatmeal raisin cookies were distributed to 7-Eleven stores throughout the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, including Moore, Norman, Noble, Midwest City, Del City, and Edmond. The company said in a news release that the cookies may contain undeclared dry eggs, soy lecithin, and whey solids. The company says no reports of illness have been received and that all of the mislabeled cookies have been removed from stores.
Farm to hold ‘Weed Dating' event
A Caddo County business owner is putting a spin on speed dating with a unique event this Saturday. “Weed dating” will be held at Lavender Valley Acres, with participants getting to know one anther while they pull weeds. Singles will be partnered up for brief conversations and rotated as they work together in the outdoor lavender garden. Owner Jag Sodhi said the idea is to create a casual environment for participants to get to know each other while working together. Buy For Less plans giveaways
Buy For Less will be celebrating El Dia de los Ninos this weekend at four store locations. Attendees can win prizes like children's bicycles, a Nintendo Wii and tickets to the Club America soccer game in June. There also will be entertainment and giveaways. Events will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the 3701 N MacArthur and 3713 S Western locations and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the 2701 SW 29 and 415 SW 59 locations.
