Oklahoma City again posts lowest jobless rate
Oklahoma City's 4.6 percent unemployment rate was again the lowest rate among large U.S. metro areas.
Oklahoma City's jobless rate in September remained level at 4.6 percent, which again was the lowest jobless rate among large U.S. cities.
It was the sixth straight month that Oklahoma City's rate has been the lowest among the nation's 49 largest cities, according to figures issued Tuesday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Oklahoma City region added 6,400 jobs in the month, with much of the growth in state and local government jobs, according to non-seasonally adjusted data from the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission said. Over the past year, Oklahoma City has added 20,400 jobs.
Tulsa's jobless rate improved to 5.3 percent in September from 5.4 percent in August. The Tulsa metro area added 4,900 jobs over the month, and 9,600 jobs over the past year, the commission said.
Meanwhile, the jobless rate rose in 22 of Oklahoma's 77 counties, the state agency reported.
