Oklahoma City archbishop will speak at commencement at St. Gregory's University

Oklahoma City Archbishop Paul S. Coakley will be commencement speaker for the May 12 ceremonies at St. Gregory's University in Shawnee.

— The Most Rev. Paul S. Coakley, archbishop of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, will address 155 graduates during May 12 commencement ceremonies at St. Gregory's University.

The event will be at 11 a.m. inside the W.P. Wood Field House on the university campus. A baccalaureate Mass will be at 7 p.m. May 11 at St. Gregory's Abbey.

Coakley was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI in December 2010 as the fourth archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and installed in February 2011.

He serves on several committees of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and is an adviser to the National Association of Catholic Chaplains.

He serves on the boards of the Catholic University of America, Conception Seminary College, Aquinas College, Catholic Relief Services and Augustine Institute.
