Chandler Haymore, 15, the son of Bret and Alyssa Haymore of Edmond, received his Eagle Scout Award on Sept. 22. He is a member of Troop 345, which serves the young men of the Edmond First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His enjoyment of sports led to his Eagle project, which was to repaint three basketball courts for the city of Edmond. A sophomore at Edmond Memorial High School, Haymore is an honor student, plays trumpet in the Bulldog Band and is on the tennis team.
Students from Oklahoma City were among the 50 students admitted for the fall semester to the College of Pharmacy at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. Among those admitted were Christina Lynne Do, Aimee Lynn Tran, Patra Kositchaiwat and Kevin Wayne Cabe.
Jeremy Sherman, of Oklahoma City, has been awarded a board of trustees scholarship from Newman University in Wichita, Kan. The scholarship is for the fall semester. Students who meet academic criteria can renew the scholarships, which are worth $8,000 per year. Sherman, a communications major, is a graduate of Dove Science Academy.
