OKC student chosen for national board

Ariel McAffrey from Oklahoma City was one of 10 high school students nationwide selected to serve on Keep America Beautiful’s third national Youth Advisory Council.

The students provide an original point of view in assessing the organization’s programs, implementing local service projects and acting as ambassadors and leaders for youth service in their communities.

Youth Advisory Council members will meet at Keep America Beautiful’s National Conference in Washington, D.C., Jan. 27-29. Members also will be receive a grant for a community service project. For more information, go to

Art museum has Free Family Day

The Oklahoma City Museum of Art will demonstrate how the senses combine to heighten our appreciation of art at Free Family Day on Sept. 7. Free Family Day is a bi-annual event. Art activities and performances are planned from noon to 5 p.m.
