Encouraging donations

The Art of Encouragement has partnered with S&B Burgers for a Pay It Forward night Tuesday at S&B’S Quail Springs location, 14020 N May Ave. S&B will donate 10 percent of sales that night to the Art of Encouragement, a local nonprofit that sends Christmas cards to veterans in VA medical facilities and state nursing homes. Hearing set on funding

— The city’s Planning and Community Development Revitalization Division will host a public hearing at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Municipal Building’s council chambers, 201 W Gray. The meeting will include idea development for the Community Development Block Grant Program, HOME program and how to provide communitywide assistance to low- and moderate-income residents of Norman. Five at-large members will be elected to the CDBG policy committee. For more information, call 366-5439.

UCO programs

accredited

— The University of Central Oklahoma’s bachelor of science degree programs in electrical engineering and mechanical engineering recently were accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission for ABET, the recognized accreditor of university programs in applied science, computing, engineering and engineering technology. Also, the Computing Accreditation Commission for ABET reaccredited the bachelor of science degree program in computer science, while the Engineering Accreditation Commission reaccredited UCO’s biomedical engineering and engineering physics programs.
