Filing set for Kingfisher mayor

— Candidate filing for the special election for mayor of Kingfisher will begin at 8 a.m. Dec. 9. Shawna Butts, secretary of the Kingfisher County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Dec. 11. Declarations of candidacy will be accepted at the Election Board, 101 S Main, Room 8. The election is Feb. 11.

School board seat up for election

— The Norman Public Schools Board of Education has announced that qualified individuals interested in running for board seat No. 4 can file between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Dec. 2-4 at the Cleveland County Election Board. The No. 4 seat is a five-year term. The election is Feb. 11.

Poinsettia sales aid FFA

— Edmond FFA is selling poinsettias for $10 for a 6-inch plant and $15 for an 8-inch plant. The plants are red and white. For presale purchase, call 641-8137 or email Pick up presale purchases from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 5. Sale dates are from noon to 6 p.m. Dec. 6 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 while supplies last. Pick up the plants at the FFA Building, 300 N Kelly Ave., on the east side of the road in the horticulture building.
