Cafe to honor military service

Military veterans and those currently serving will be honored at Lifetree Cafe at 6:30 p.m. July 2. The program, titled “Saluting Those Who Serve,” will feature the film “Memories of the Tuskegee Airmen.” Admission is free. Snacks and beverages are available. Play therapy training offered

The Center for Children and Families will present a course on play therapy from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Friday at Wildwood Community Church, 1501 24th Ave. NE. Presented by play therapist Lynn Wendelbo, the training is offered to therapists for continuing education credit. Participants will learn how to create a therapeutic environment in the playroom. Edmond quilters to display work

More than 100 quilts will be on display at Edmond Quilt Festival 2014 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 25 and 26. The quilts, made by Edmond Quilt Guild members, will vary from innovative art to traditional; large to small; and pictorial to graphic. The event is open to the public. Admission to the exhibit at the Gaylord University Center on the Oklahoma Christian University campus, 2501 E Memorial Road, is $7. Parking is free. For information, go to
