A steady stream of clientele has kept the Mollman family in the water business for 50 years.

From 1963, when John and Jan Mollman began building their own water company from their home, to the present, with sons Brian and Greg now representing the family business as franchisees for Culligan water, the family hasn't lost its taste for water.

Mollman's Culligan Water provides bottled water, drinking water and filtering systems for residences and businesses. They use reverse osmosis to remove impurities in the water and provide customers with fresher tasting water.

“People are getting more concerned about their water all the time,” John Mollman said.

These days, bottled water comprises just 10 percent of their business. Rental equipment and installing large filtration systems for hospitals and other businesses is what really keeps them busy.

John and Jan are mostly retired now, with 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Their son Brian Mollman handles sales and son Greg manages the business at 2521 S Interstate 35 Service Road.

John Mollman began working for Culligan in 1958, repairing and installing tanks to treat water. But after the business changed hands, he resigned and struck out on his own, founding Mollman's Water Conditioning with his wife, Jan, in 1963.

A few years later, he had the opportunity to purchase the Culligan's dealership he had once worked for.

Now, they are Culligan's franchisees with an area that encompasses Oklahoma, Cleveland, McClain, Pottawatomie and Logan counties.
