Tickets on sale for ‘Beauty and the Beast'
CHOCTAW — Tickets are still available for Choctaw High School's production of “Beauty and the Beast.” Performances are scheduled through March 2. Tickets are $15, $12 and $10. There also is a dinner performance slated for March 2. For more information on tickets, call 259-6855. Tickets can be purchased at the Choctaw High School performing arts center, 14300 NE 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. daily.
Archery class offered in Yukon
YUKON — The Yukon Parks and Recreation Department is offering a beginning archery class for ages 9 to 12. The classes will be March 18-22 at the Jackie Cooper Gym. There is no charge for the class, but each participant must bring five target arrows. For more information and to register, call 350-8920.
Guest lecturer scheduled
Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center and Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art, in partnership with Chesapeake Energy, will host guest lecturers Desmond Shawe-Taylor and Anna Somers Cocks. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Chesapeake Energy Blue Room off Western Avenue between NW 63 and Classen. Shawe-Taylor manages one of the world's most prestigious and important art collections, that of Queen Elizabeth II. The lecture is open to the public.
Libraries offer free tax help
Volunteers will be available to help individuals with their state and federal income taxes at several Metropolitan Library System branches. There is no charge. Participating libraries include Belle Isle Library (843-9601), Capitol Hill Library (634-6308), Edmond Library (341-9282), Northwest Library (606-3580), Ralph Ellison Library (424-1437), The Village Library (755-0710) and Warr Acres Library (721-2616).
