Panera Bread adds drive-thru

— Panera Bread, 2200 W Main St. in Norman has added a drive-thru. It will add to revenue, increase sales 10 to 15 percent and result in a 45 percent increase in staff, the company said. Grand opening is Tuesday. It was the first time a Panera Bread in Oklahoma has added on to a building. Construction took eight weeks, mostly during closed hours. Panera Bread locations in the Oklahoma City metro area are a part of a locally owned franchise with 32 bakery-cafes in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri.

Forecast conference scheduled

Bill Rancic, first winner of “The Apprentice” with Donald Trump, television host of “America Now” and co-executive producer of The Style Network's “Giuliana and Bill,” will be the keynote speaker Thursday at the Oklahoma City Commercial Real Estate Council's 16th annual Forecast Conference on the 50th floor of Devon Tower. “Forecast 2013: Beyond the Headlines” will be from 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Presenters will be Chad Wilkerson, economist at the Oklahoma City branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City; Jim Costello, managing director of CBRE Americas Research-Investment Consulting; and Ford Price, managing partner of Price Edwards & Co. Mark Funke, president and CEO of Southwest Bancorp, will be emcee.

Three hours of continuing education credits have been approved through the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission. Parking will not be available at Devon Tower, so attendees should plan to use other nearby parking for this event. Register and pay online at
