“The real estate market within Oklahoma City has improved dramatically over the past few years, particularly in the area where World Neighbors currently exists, opening the door to a cost-effective move for the organization,” said Melanie Macdonald, president and CEO. “We have decades of sweet memories in our current building and are so grateful for the supporters who made it possible for us to make our home here. Now we are excited about what the future holds for us with a new location.”

Realtors group hires CEO

The Oklahoma City Metro Association of Realtors has hired Shane Johnson as CEO effective Nov. 15, said Lorna Koeninger, president. Johnson has worked with Realtors groups for a decade, most recently as CEO of Quad City Area Realtor Association in Bettendorf, Iowa. Before that, he was CEO of St. Charles, Mo., Association of Realtors near St. Louis. Previously, Johnson was deputy chief of staff for former U.S. Rep. Jim Nussle, R-Iowa.

Johnson grew up on a small farm in central Iowa, graduated from the Agriculture College of Iowa State University and holds a law degree from the University of Wyoming. He is a certified instructor for both Dale Carnegie Training and At Home with Diversity. He is active in the National Association of Realtors.
