Oklahoma City-area school district celebrates opening of new school
Two tires sit in the trophy case at the Bridgestone Intermediate Center , the newest school in the Western Heights School District .
The first is the first tire to roll off the line at the Dayton Tire plant on Dec. 1, 1969. The other is the last made at the plant, which closed in December 2006, leaving more than 1,400 workers displaced or unemployed.
